There are a few meticulous growers in Burgundy who plant at high density. This gives the resultant wines great intensity and clarity. Olivier Lamy’s whites are perhaps the most famous examples, and these offerings run into the many 100’s of dollars. The 2018 has just landed and it is quite stunning, one of the most engaging Chardonnay wines of the year for us.
