2018 Domaine Bruno Lorenzon Montagny 1er Cru Le Mont Laurent

There are a few meticulous growers in Burgundy who plant at high density. This gives the resultant wines great intensity and clarity. Olivier Lamy’s whites are perhaps the most famous examples, and these offerings run into the many 100’s of dollars. The 2018 has just landed and it is quite stunning, one of the most engaging Chardonnay wines of the year for us. Wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, orange oil and white flowers, the 2018 Montagny 1er Cru Le Mont Laurent is medium to full-bodied, elegantly fleshy and enveloping, with lively acids, a pretty core of fruit and a precise, delicately mineral finish. 91 points WK 2020 “exceptional density’ and is ‘very, very long’ - Jasper Morris M.W 'Once again, this cuvée has turned out brilliantly' - William Kelley
