2014 Domaine de la Bongran Viré-Clessé

As many of you know this is one of the greatest white Burgundy vintages. The wine itself is a beauty. It was picked late and has complex fruit aromas and flavours. There’s ripe peach, apricot, and preserved citrus along with a suggestion of truffle honey, lavender and smoke. It is a rich wine of texture, power and presence. It is unctuous in the mouth and built almost like red wine. Flavours linger on and on and it has plenty of savoury attributes. It is such a good food wine.. JH 2020
